K-12 school furniture projects
Ergonomic, durable and standards-aligned furniture for primary and secondary campuses. A K-12 project usually means five room types in one contract — classrooms, science labs, library, cafeteria and boarding dormitories — each with its own sizing, safety and durability requirements.

School furniture is bought room type by room type, but it is delivered and commissioned as one campus. The scope below is what a typical K-12 package includes; a project can cover any subset.
Classrooms & specialist rooms
Student desks and chairs sized to EN1729 height marks, teacher stations, storage and display. Specialist rooms add art, music and maker furniture.
Science and STEM laboratories
Chemical-resistant benches, fume extraction, service spines, lab stools and prep-room storage sized to the curriculum and the room services available.
Library and learning commons
Shelving, reading tables, study carrels, soft seating and maker-space benches, zoned for quiet study, group work and browsing.
Cafeteria and dining
Stackable seating and dining tables sized to the number of covers per sitting, with wipe-clean finishes and storage for between services.
Boarding dormitories
Bunk and apartment beds with guardrails and fixed ladders, wardrobes, study units and storage, planned to the room density the school can supervise.
Administration and staff
Reception, staff workstations, meeting tables and office seating, usually matched to the finishes used in student areas.

K-12 furniture project questions
Answers by FurnEdu · educational furniture manufacturer since 2007
Can FurnEdu furnish a whole K-12 campus, not just one room type?
Yes. Most K-12 projects are whole-campus packages covering classrooms, labs, library, cafeteria and dormitories in one contract, so quantities, finishes, lead times and shipping are coordinated. The furniture schedule is built room by room from your drawings or a site survey.
How are classroom desks and chairs sized for a K-12 school?
Furniture is specified against EN1729 height marks rather than year groups, because a single class can span 30 cm of student height. The schedule mixes size marks per room and uses height-adjustable models where a room must serve several grades over time.
What is the lead time for a school furniture project?
Lead time depends on the model mix, finish selection and quantity, and is confirmed in the quotation. Projects are usually phased so that the first buildings are furnished while later phases are still in production, and delivery dates are agreed per phase before the order is placed.
Can furniture be delivered and installed during school holidays?
Yes. Delivery windows are planned around term dates, and phased delivery by building or floor is common for occupied campuses. Installation guidance is supplied with the shipment, and on-site supervision can be quoted for larger projects.
Which standards apply to K-12 furniture projects?
EN1729-1 and EN1729-2 for classroom furniture dimensions and safety, BIFMA X5.5-aligned durability, and ISO 9001/14001/45001 manufacturing systems. Where a national standard applies — GB in China, CPSIA in the United States, JIS in Japan — the tender requirement is mapped to the specification before quotation.
