The Challenge

The Municipal Education Department of São Paulo launched a city-wide school furniture replacement programme covering 15 public primary and secondary schools across multiple districts. The project was driven by a backlog of aging furniture — much of it 15+ years old — that had fallen into disrepair, with broken chair legs, cracked tabletops, and wobbly frames across hundreds of classrooms. The FurnEdu Solution

FurnEdu was selected through a competitive bidding process based on a combination of price, product quality, certification profile, and — critically — the ability to deliver the full order within the required timeframe. For the **classroom furniture**, FurnEdu standardized on two desk-and-chair models: a fixed-height model for primary grades (EN1729 Size 3–4) and an adjustable model for secondary grades (Size 5–6). This two-model approach allowed bulk pricing and simplified production, while still covering the full age range of students across the 15 schools.
